Request Introduction

Healthy Entrepreneurs (HE) has introduced  a viable and sustainable last-mile delivery model to improve access to health services and improve health outcomes in rural and remote areas.

HE selects Community Health Workers (CHW), and trains them as health entrepreneurs. They pay a commitment fee and receive a starter kit of basis health products on credit, and a solar powered tablet with an ordering application, product and health information application and educational videos on relevant health topics in local languages. They make a living selling reliable and affordable high impact products, (e.g. fortified porridges for mother and child, ORS with zinc), improve awareness and knowledge on health exclusively in their remote communities. Health Entrepreneurs also offer simple diagnostic tests and advice from a  Doctor @ distance.  Each CHW covers a few villages, reaching on average about 200 households. With an average of five people per household, that means that they each reach about a thousand women, men and children, whose health outcomes they positively influence.
